In a local networking group or other similar business support system, each company or service offers a free product or service for the specific purpose of allowing each others' outstanding employee of the month (week, year, et cetera) to select his or her own reward from the network. If an organization receives a lot of attention (or very little) for this offering, they gain insightful feedback as to the success of that product.
Tip: This also gets people to try things they may not otherwise try. If a product or service is successful, you could have the beginning of a great word-of-mouth campaign on your hands.
Tip: As a cost for participating in this program, ensure you have surveys in place to capture that valuable feedback you should be collecting.
